Ratho Farm Golf Course
Scotland has St Andrews as its oldest operating golf course.

Australia has Ratho Farm. First established in 1822, it continues to provide a golfing experience for its guests and visitors.

For part of its operations, the course was only a nine-hole layout with wire fences surrounding the greens to protect them from the sheep, which gazed on the course.

After an aerial survey of the property, the owners found some original 18 holes, and work commenced reinstating them into the golf course.
The Homestead and Property
The Golf Course
The Ratho Farm Golf Course is a modest 5,140 metre, par 70 layout from the back tees and a 4,369 metre, par 73 from the forward tees.
The course comprises six par 3 holes, seven par 4 holes and five par 5s and provides some interesting challenges, such as playing over fences, hedges, sheep pens and the Clyde River.
The Accommodation
The cottages have an old-world rustic charm, yet inside, the cottages are comfortably modern.

I have to say, I enjoyed one of the best night's sleep when staying in the Anglers Cottage.
